The Closed/Double Open Hybrid Square Twist, also called CDO Hybrid Square Twist, is an advanced twist used in origami tessellations.

Uses in Tessellations
Hybrid square twists are folded starting from a regular square grid. The mountain folds that form the two half-squares themselves are not in the grid. The twist can be folded with or without pre-creasing those folds, depending on the expertise of the folder.
They are very versatile twists, with uses both on their own and with other twists that use square grids. Unlike other square twists, there is also an orientation variable when using hybrid square twists that leads to many more possible designs.
This particular hybrid square twist uses more grid and so is less widely used than the closed/open hybrid square twist.
